Briefly: ROKR E1 - first impressions
- iPod Phone Isn’t Perfect, but It’s a Start (Daivd Pogue gives the ROKR E1 a test-drive; in accordance to every reviewer out there, he’s not particularly thrilled about it, but does give it props for its excellent battery life and sonic performance)
- New iTunes phone a snazzy device
- Engadget’s ROKR E1 impressions (reports that the iTunes software on the device was slow and unresponsive)
- Over-the-air downloads for the ROKR E1 in the US definitely not possible till next year (“Such a service would not make sense until Cingular offered a higher-speed network to allow faster downloading of data, including songs, something it is expected to do next year.”)
- Singapore version of ROKR E1 limited to 50 songs by firmware (as opposed to the 100-song limit in the US version; this is according to the CNET Asia guys
can anyone confirm this?UPDATE: it’s now specifically noted at the top of the page as an “Editor’s note” so I guess that makes it official) - ROKR E1 UK release on September 16th (for £209.99 it can be preordered from O2) [via]
