Briefly: White PSP available, Hard drives’ future, Early Nano sales, CDs’ longevity, Nano review
- Ceramic White PSP ships in Japan today (get if from AudioCubes for $269) [via]
- Samsung boss predicts death of hard drives (we’ve posted a couple of days ago that they’re doubling the memory density of their NAND flash chips for six years in a row now, so multi-GB chips should keep on coming; as noted in the article though, the flash chips have a finite life in read/write cycle terms so they’re not exactly a panacea) [via]
- Analyst: Early iPod nano sales good, not great (also, black ones outsell weight ones by a great deal) [via]
- Apple May Sell More iPod Nanos Than Initially Expected (see the contradiction with link above? they’re based on a survey of 20 Apple retail stores; research firm quote: “Apple would likely be selling more iPod nanos than their initial aggressive expectations”; also: black 4G nanos are sold out, but holiday season shortage problems probably won’t surface since “Apple’s manufacturing partner has dedicated a facility solely to iPod nano production”) [via]
- How long do CDs last?
- CNET Asia reviews the iPod nano (rating: 8.3/10; Apple’s latest offering gets the CNET treatment)
