Briefly: GCHA head amp, Zen Sleek Photo, RIAA upset with Sirius & XM, iTransit iPod mini case deal, Award for iPod & iTunes
- GCHA Headphone amplifier (analog—RCA—and USB inputs, a “huge power supply” to drive demanding phones, and the ‘Gain Cell’ technology that works for a pristine sound; sounds like a winner to me, and the reviews that surface are positive; starts from $995, which isn’t absurd when you consider its target market) [via]
- Creative Zen Sleek Photo surfaces (good idea; an OK-looking screen, FM tuner, built-in mic, and an amazing battery rated at 19 hours; to be released in November, somewhere in the $300+ area)
- RIAA upset with Sirius and XM about devices that allow recording of songs [free sub. req.] (we’re talking about devices such as Samsung’s neXus XM and the Sirius S50; “permanent ownership of copyrighted material without paying for it” scares RIAA and since their stupidity knows no limits, and hey, they’re running out of targets now that Grokster, WinMX, etc. are gone) [via]
Deal: Audiology’s iTransit protective iPod mini case with neck strap and built-in earphones for $7.50 (from $29.99) [via]- iPod & iTunes win Danish INDEX:2005 award in ‘Play’ category (held every four years, these are given to world’s best designs and innovations; “Apple devised a solution that is as noteworthy for the ingenuity of its business model as it is for the high design ‘coolness of the product.”)[via]
