Briefly: Configuring Azureus guide pt.2, iFill review, A kid’s take on RMAF 2005, Nano sales estimates and demand troubles, Apple’s mindhsare, MusicGiants review, iPod add-ons = expensive
- Part 2: Azureus Optimization and Plugins (“Today I will cover changing the incoming TCP listen port, the SafePeer plugin and the RSS Import plugin.”; we’ve covered part 1 that covers more basic issues last week)
- Review: iFill iFill is an interesting lil’ app from Griffin Technologies that basically records Internet radio streams and passes them along to your iPod, all done with a slightly odd but nice UI; too bad it costs $20 and is OS X only)
- RMAF 2005: A kid’s take (interview with a 13-year old kid who visited an expensive audio show, and is hooked to vinyl, because digital audio “just didn’t sound natural”) [via]
- iPod nano sales estimates, demand problems and Apple’s mindshare (analysis says they could sell 5M Nanos this quarter [via]; apparently, they can’t keep up with the demand for the 4GB Nano version though [via]; finally, Apple seems to be gaining mindshare among teenagers)
- Review: MusicGiants (they like the idea, but the software could use big imporvements and the anemic catalog isn’t helping things—read our take on the service) [via]
- Reader Editorial: Are iPod add-ons too expensive? (“Once hovering at $20, suggested retail prices for non-premium iPod mini and nano cases have been inching upwards to match $30-35 prices for full-sized iPod cases. Electronic accessories such as FM transmitters have started to jump from $30 up to $50 or $60.”; I don’t know if most of the people who buy an iPod realize they’re going to have to spend at least another $20-30 for a case that’s rather needed)
