The PEZ MP3 Player (writer’s block prevents me from coming up with a fancy title)
Stay-at-home dad and PEZ fan, Patrick Misterovich, thought it’d be cool to make a PEZ MP3 player [via], and after getting the proper license (and a loan from the bank) he went ahead and did just that. It’s 512MB flash MP3 player built into a PEZ dispenser, and it comes preloaded with music from indie bands which is a nice touch. There is USB 2.0 connectivity, Janus support so your tracks from subscription services are OK, and a single AAA battery keeps it running for up to 20 hours. You can drag & drop the files to and it can also be used for data storage. More specs here. It ships in 4-6 weeks to US addresses only, and at $99, it’ll probably only appeal to PEZ fanatics, and—most importantly—those who want to support this guy’s efforts, “working out of his basement, taking on the giants of Cupertino, Tokyo, and Seoul.”
