Review: Alegria Audio Ling bookshelf speaker system
Alegria Audio’s tagline is: “dedicated to bringing quality loudspeakers to the budget minded audiophile” and to our benefit, they seem to deliver. The fuss is about their bookshelf speaker system, Ling. In a few words: solid performance, fantastic price.
From their website:
Hand built, magnetically shielded, two-way, ported bookshelf speaker system that delivers stunning sound in a small package. A TRUE bookshelf speaker made especially for placement close to walls.
Positive Feedback reviews them [via] and urges us to “order a pair of these right away”:
In a marketplace full of hi-fi bargains, the Alegria Audio Lings emerge as one of the most intriguing I’ve run across. They’re smooth, refined, and involving in a way that belies their price. With some added polish, I’d expect to pay three times that. [...] They are of high quality, and throw an immense soundstage that rivals the best I’ve heard. [...] The rough edges are easily forgivable considering their tremendous value.
These’ll set you back $350 a pair. You can always buy them separately ($175 each), so you’re welcomed to build a 5.1 system of these—just remember to set the AV receiver crossover at 80Hz.
