Apple to EMI: “We have no idea what you’re talking about”
EMI said yesterday that the new Macrovision-built DRM they plan to employ on their compact discs will be iTunes-friendly. Users will be able to rip it using iTunes and transfer it to their iPods. (Furthermore users will be able to make three copies of the disc on blank CDs and burn each individual track up to seven times.)
Thing is, Apple says EMI’s claims are not true and ”[...] we have no idea why EMI made this statement.” CNET has the full story. [via]
PS: Note how Apple was quick to dismiss this story, but kept its mouth shut on EMI’s claims for variable song pricing in the iTMS within a year…
