Joint Stereo: myths & realities

Joint Stereo (or JS, for short) is one of the most misunderstood techniques used in audio compression; it affects all the usual suspects such MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, and even lossless formats such as Monkey’s Audio and Lossless Predictive Audio Compression.
