Apple secures flash memory supplies till 2010 (and leaves no doubt as to who 0wnz the market now): “Apple on Monday announced that it has reached long-term supply agreements with Hynix, Intel, Micron, Samsung Electronics and Toshiba to secure the supply of NAND flash memory through 2010.” Apple will prepay its suppliers $1.5Bn in the next months. How do you pronounce check-mate?

We’ve also got the news of a new NAND flash memory maker, IM Flash Technologies LLC, the product of collaboration between Intel and Micron: “Each company will contribute about $1.2 billion in cash, notes and other assets to form the company. [...] Intel and Micron also plan to pay an additional $1.4 billion each into the company over the next three years.” Reuters has more on that one.
