More Sonic Impact T-AMP goodness
Sonic Impact comes with the $139 Super T-AMP [via], an upgrade to the popular and great T-AMP ($39) with “quality binding posts, RCA jacks and the ability to draw power from either the wall or your car” among other improvements.
We had presented the T-AMP back in October, and posted a comparison versus other Class-T amplifiers a few weeks later.
The $100 difference between the Super T-AMP and the T-AMP has me thinking Sonic Impact is trying to capitalize on the T-AMP craze, maybe—it’s a bit too much, but still a good deal.
Oh, and the TCC TC754 [via] is apparently the preamp to get. It’ll set you back 80 bucks.

I can’t speak for the Super t, but the regular T amp is absolute Garbage. Mine burned itself out the first time I used it, and stopped working alltogether within a week of purchase. No contact information for the company is provided with the product, except links to a website they never respond to. My advice to audiophiles is don’t waste your money.

I have 2 of the T-amps never had an issue!
disregard the naysayer and never let this amp clip and she good. I got a 4 amp 12v regulated power supply and this baby sings! I had it on a cruise resently with a pair of RS minimus 3’s these are damn small 3.5” speakers and they sounded loud and clear at volumes that had people dancing outside of our cabin! It was a blast DJing as our house DJ stunk.- They will run off of 8 AA batteries but they don’t sound as loud or as good with a power supply. But ran them off an ipod and this portable system rocked the hottub for hours!

That EP Sato guy up top is the ONLY person who’s been posting the same exact negative comment on every blog, Amazon forum, etc. that he could find. I guess one (rather vocal) disgruntled customer out of thousands is not bad….
Just so the original poster above knows, the $100 difference between T and Super-T has to do with vastly different innards. The chip’s the same, but power supply, filters, chassis, volume potentiometer, interconnects inside…. are all better.

BT: thanks for the note.
Could you please point me to an article somewhere that seconds your writing re: the $100 price difference?
This sounds plausible (I’m not doubting you, cause you seem to know what you’re talking about), but I’d like to have a (linkable) source before I update my original post.
Thanks!
