MTV & Microsoft’s digital music service to launch in 2006
MTV & Microsoft’s digital music service to launch in 2006: called Urge (remember when we posted it about it back in August), it’ll be integrated into Windows Media Player and will come with a 2 million songs catalog.
Original content and MTV network programs is where it’s at, I think (considering how popular MTV’s shows are with the kids these days), giving the Zen Vision:M users a nice opportunity to fill up their hard drives.
No love for iPod users since the content will most certainly be locked with Microsoft’s DRM which can’t be read by Apple’s device. (And we’re not really criticing this move less than we do on Apple’s FairPlay/non-iPod compatibility.)
