iTunes ringtones project (?): canned
Don’t forget to read our end note: iTunes ringtones project (?): canned: according to The Register, Apple was about to unveil a software project in the coming MacWorld Expo next month that would allow consumers to download ringtones from the iTunes Music Stores and even remix them before sending them to their cellphones via BlueTooth. Reasons for the project’s cancellation are unknown, pressure from the carriers is speculated.
We don’t really consider The Register to be a serious publication, so take this with a big grain of salt, even if it makes sense for Apple to move into this department.
