MacWorld Expo 2006: iPod Radio Remote and AV Connection Kit
Apple didn’t present new Shuffles at the MacWorld Expo (like we, along with others, had guessed) but did hav e a treat or two for the iPod users.
The iPod Radio Remote lets you enjoy you favorite radio stations via the built-in FM receiver, accompanied by a nice visualisation on the iPod’s screen. Favorite stations can be saved as presets and there’s RDS in here too (you know, for track information, etc.), but no added extras like a voice recorder or something. Unfortunately (but not unexpectedly), it’s only compatible with the 5G iPod and the Nano. You’ll find a review over at iLounge (it got a “A-” rating and very positive comments) and some additional real-life pics of it here [via].
The iPod AV Connection Kit aims to ease the iPod’s integration with your TV set or stereo system. There’s a Universal Dock, an AV cable, a Remote a Dock Connector to USB 2.0 cable and a USB Power adapter in that box. If you’ve got an iPod with a dock connector this may interest you. It’ll set you back a hundred bucks.
Last, and least (always wanted to say that!), Apple presented the in-ear lanyard earbuds for the Nano which go for $49 (compared to the $39 the non in-ear version costs). Nothing to write home about.
