Rhapsody to launch Web-based interface

Rhapsody announced today that it won’t require its users to use special software to access the service, since they’re launching a Web-based interface. Any PC/Mac/Linux user can point his browser to ‘rhapsody.com’ and, according to Red Herring, stream up to 25 songs per session, for free (song downloads are not available for now).

AOL bought Circuit City’s MusicNow digital music service for less than $25M according to insiders.

The service, with a catalog of more than 1M songs, will be rebranded as “AOL Music Now” and will offer $.99 tracks for purchase and a $10/month subscription plan which goes up to $15/month (a la Napster, Rhapsody, Yahoo! Music Unlimited, [...]
